Halloween!
Halloween was so fun this year. I took Carson to some trunk-or-treats and as soon as he realized he was getting candy he was thrilled. We then walked to a neighbors house and had some homemade wassle! Carson was so tired when he got home he wouldnt let me take his picture but I was able to snap a few. He looked so cute in his yoda costume and it was hilarious to hear all the horrible impressions of yoda that everyone did for him. Gavin was such a cute pea pod it just melted my heart. It was fun to finally have someone to celebrate with since Taron HATES Halloween and I love it.
So sad but so cute!

The Cast!
On the 29th of October Carson got his cast off, I didnt realize that I never even blogged about it!~ Well Carson got a full arm cast on his arm it went around all his fingers except his thumb (thats the little stub sticking out) up to his arm pit. He seemed to adjust just fine to it. The green part is to protect the thumb from getting cut on the cast and we could change it from green to blue. He loved changing the colors. He had it on for 5 weeks totaling the amount of time in a splint or cast to 9 weeks.

When they took the cast off they had to use a saw, he thought that was interesting he didnt even cry but when she put the scissors out to cut the gauze he freaked out. He has been so brave through this whole ordeal. His hand was so so stinky and his fingernails were long and yellow, it was disgusting. He is very protective of his hand now that it is out of the cast. He didnt use it at all for the first few days, then he started using it now he is not again. We start physical therapy in 3 weeks. He was supposed to go into a splint but the doc didnt think he would keep it on so he has this strap that holds the injured finger to the next one to protect it. I will get a picture of the actual scars when he will let me. These were taken right after the cast came off.
You can see his long nasty nails in this one.
We asked him if we should put the cast back on and he said NO and ran as fast as he could in the other room, it was cute but kinda mean I guess. Well I will keep you in the loop.

Lets meet baby!
Hey everyone! Baby is HERE! I got off bedrest on Monday and within hours of seeing my doctor I was in labor. We went to dinner at Olive Garden and then off the to hospital. At 930 PM we arrived at the hospital contracting 5 min apart. We were admitted and I thought great this shouldnt take long. Well after 13 hours of labor and luckily only 2 pushes he was born at 1030 AM on October 6th. Gavin was 5lb 14oz and 19 inches long. He is doing great so far and we are so lucky for that considering he was only. We are home and doing great.
Well dad looks fantastic but if you cant tell it had been a long night for me and Gavin.
He started turning yellow already, his jaundice is in the high range but we are just watching it,
BIG CARSEAT little bitty baby! He is down to 5lb 7oz as of last night. It was an experience trying to get the carseat tight enough.
Carson has yet to meet Gavin but will be home later tonight since he was not allowed in the hospital. Cant wait for the brothers to finally meet!

Big Boy Bed!!!
After we went to Vegas but before the big accident we transitioned Carson into.......A BIG BOY BED!!!!! We took apart his crib and he was a little upset about that but then he helped us put it up for the baby. So after that we thought this would take a good 30 mins maybe an hour to put this bed together. After we got all the pieces sperated and started we realized that the main support beam was split, I ordered this bed online and there was no way to get one right now but now Carson didnt have a bed!!! So I called Walmart in TEARS and told them they had a bed just like it and if I could come in and get the piece I needed out of the box. Taron didnt think they would let me but I took Carson in the store and who can say no to him! They opened a box of a different brand bed and traded pieces with me. I ran home and it FIT! So this hour long job actually took more than 4. Around midnight we finally got done and put the sheets on. So I thought was this worth the mess and then Carson jumped in all by himself, laid down, and was BEAMING!
We sat in his room telling him how he has to stay in bed at night, he cant get up and wander. We gave him all the rules and he was so excited and proud.
He has Crayola crayon sheets with an airplane comforter.

He did fantastic that first night, actually we have not had many issues with the transition. I knew he was ready. He shows off big bed to everyone and thinks he is so so big.

The Surgery!
Well I know its been 5 days but Carson had surgery on Friday. He did very well considering. The doctor came in and said he did get both tendons and the nerves but she was able to repair them all, it is still not known what kind of feeling and function he will have that will just have to be seen in time. He has been a trooper, we noticed his splint slipping off over the weekend and then the worst happened....It got wet! This is bad! I called his doc and she said to get it as dry as possible and they would change it on Monday. When we went in on Monday and they unwrapped it I was devastated. Since it had only been 3 days since the surgery it was extremely swollen and bruised, and because of the water it was white and water-logged. Hopefully it looks better next time. He is doing well now, it doesnt even phase him to have the big cast although caring for him is much harder, he is more whiney and needy, gets frustrated easy, it takes 2 to bath him and none of his sleeves fit over his cast so dressing him is rediculous. Thats ok though because he is ok and it will end eventually! Our next appointment is next Friday so hopefully we know more by then.

OUCH!!!!!!!!
Well it has been a LONG few days. On Thursday Carson and I were cleaning out his room getting ready for winter and the new baby. We were trying on old clothes to see what we still needed to buy for winter so Carson was in his diaper and I was in my PJ's. I was in his closet and he ran out of the room for just a few minutes when I heard a HUGE CRASH and a horrible SCREAM! I ran into our room and saw Carson on the floor with a vase that held our change shattered all over him, he was screaming and covered in blood. I picked him up and ran into the bathroom thinking he just had a little cut so I looked him over and rinsed him off and saw a horrible sight. His left index finger was just hanging there the cut was so deep I could see the bone. I knew I needed help getting to the hospital so I grapped a washcloth wrapped it up and ran outside where luckily my neighbor was washing his car. I ran to his house and said "I think Carson needs to go the the ER" We must have been a sight because he dropped the stuff he was holding and looked at his finger. It was so bad he grabbed him and said go get what you need to go the hospital. I ran in the house and grapped my purse and the diaper bag, by this time they had gone through 3 washclothes and a hand towel of blood. Me, Carson, and the neighbor were covered in blood. We grabbed a pressure bandage out of the 72 hour kit and wrapped a cloth around his hand and got him in the car and I went to Mckay ER. When we got there they said oh did he get cut and I said "Ya its pretty bad" they acted like I was overreacting so right in the triage they unwrapped it and it was bleeding so bad, the nurse looked at it and at me and said "OH we should put him in the big room" Having it unwrapped for just a moment the floor was covered in blood. After we got in the room they numbed it with a topical cream and changed the dressing again, then gave him numbing with the shots and had to change the dressing again. Finally the ER doc came in and got all the stitches out and got ready to stitch him up but once he unwrapped it he looked at me and said "I think we need to call the hand surgeon it looks like he got a tendon" Well I already had figured it was that bad so they put him in a splint and sent us home to see a hand surgreon in the morning. Friday morning we went to Dr Okawa who is a plastic surgeon they unwrapped it (again) and she looked at it for just a moment and said that everything to the bone was severed including all the tendons and possibly the nerves. So it was alot worse than we had been anticipating. He will be having surgery including a incision that will probably extend into his palm. She will repair the tendons and nerves but is unsure at this time what kind of motion and feeling he will have. He is currently in a splint and is scheduled for surgery on Friday the 11th, (I really would prefer sooner but its labor day weekend). He will then be in a splint for 8 weeks followed by weeks of physical therapy. He was very brave in the
ER he barely cried when they numbed it and laid perfectly still while they cleaned and put in 2 stitches. He is doing fine as of now though he doesnt seem to mind the splint I think he is doing much better than me.
