Update on the Kiddos!

Well its been awhile since I have updated anyone on the kiddos so here it goes!

Gavin!

Gav is doing AMAZING, yup thats right! He started a milk introduction program about 6 weeks ago. Basically he started with something simple like a piece of bread with Whey in it. He has increased and increased and increased his tolerance....bit by bit I might add...he is now tolerating yogurt and even straight MILK!!! Without becoming sick!!! Its very exciting! He has also reached, for the first time ever, the 5% on the weight chart. This is amazing considering where we came from which is about 1 inch below the chart! However its not as important as the fact that he has not had a weight loss in months and months!

He is still on Nutramagen AA but we are currently cutting back his calories to see if he can tolerate a normal calorie range without weight loss.

Last week, to make him a sippy, it took~

10 scoops formula
10cc microlipid
2 ounces whole milk
6 ounces water

This week we are at~

5 scoops formula
10cc microlipid
4 ounces water
4 ounces whole milk

We hope to have him off of formula completely by his 2nd birthday but he is not making it easy since he hates the taste of milk!

He is loving his new life, he loves trying new food and his FAVORITES from the new options are...Chocolate chip cookies, popcorn, ice cream, chocolate, and Gossners flavored milk (he REFUSES to drink milk plain, which is normal for a kid who has been on formula his whole life, so he has to have flavored milk for now) and pizza. He dislikes cupcakes and sugar cookies...way to sweet from what he is used to.

He loves nursery but only if he walks in on his own, if I take him in its a huge fight. But that is exactly how he is, its gotta be his way or not at all!

He is a little TEASE and a heartbreaker. He has a major MAJOR temper and is very stubborn....sound like anyone you know??? He has a smile that could kill and loves his big brother .... by that I mean loves driving his big brother nuts! He loves his blankie more than anything else and can melt your heart with just one look. Yup Im definitely in trouble when he is older!

man I love this little guy he is such an amazing little spirit.

Carson!

Cars is such a little stud....He has been doing really really awesome! Last summer we had alot of problems with anxiety but this year he is getting brave and really trying to not be scared! He still struggles with some things but he has come leaps and bounds since last summer! He LOVE LOVE LOVES tumbling and especiallly now that he gets to go with one of his best buddies Eli. He can talk talk talk talk your ear off and thats no joke! He comes up with the craziest things to say that will make you laugh and scratch your head! He is such a great big brother....he also loves to torture his little brother by taking his blankie and running.

He loves movies and books but he loves playing outside with his friends the most! He loves when we watch Ronin and they play so well together! He is so helpful and loves earning his warm-and-fuzzies by doing something nice for Gavin. You can pretty much get him to do anything if you give him food and he will eat and eat and eat and eat until you finally tell him NO! He also loves being naked, I will find him riding his trike, reading, or doing pretty much anything naked....even running in the backyard!

His favorite foods are anything in the...big bowl in the big coupboard...A.K.A the candy bowl! His absolute favorite meal is the little lofthouse pancakes and banquet sausage.

He loves primary and loves having his mom as his singing leader. He is not scared to get up and talk or give prayer or tell what he is reading in the scriptures. His primary teachers say he is the only one who will talk even if he doesnt know the answer he will say something.

He loves his Gadoon (Lagoon) and his favorite ride is the airplanes with the guns.

His finger is all healed up! He has to see his plastic surgeon every year until he is fully grown to keep checking the tendons and make sure they are growing. There is a chance they will break or stop stretching but its small and we are thankful everday that he is doing so well, He just has a little bit of a loss of movement, it doesnt bend all the way or straighten all the way but we are thankful for all he has!

His ears are still an issue. In fact we are preparing for surgery on Monday the 27th. He had an appointment with Primary Childrens a few weeks ago and they want to put in butterfly tubes which are long term tubes and remove all the scar tissue from his ears, check for polyps, re-remove his adenoids and recheck his tonsils. The butterfly tubes will cause a hole in his eardrum that will have to be closed later but its the best option for Carson. They are sure he has a malformation of his Eustation tubes that does not allow them to drain, we hope for less problems in the future but this may be something he battles for years to come... He has some hearing loss of the 2 lowest tones in his left ear but otherwise his hearing is doing great considering his history.

Carson is nothing if not a great kid who has been through alot and is doing great regardless. He is a special spirit and I know has some special and important things he is supposed to do. If you want a laugh he is the kid to talk to!

I love this little man. Well thats whats going on in our boys lives. We are truely truely blessed. Everyday they make us laugh and bring such joy to our lives. As hard as it gets I would not change a thing. They are AMAZING kids who are strong and great at enduring. We LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!
