Gavin Update!

Well Gavin was weighed today and......he has only gained 3 ounces in a month, he is now 12lbs 12oz. He should be gaining a half ounce a day the pediatrician said so this is not so good. He is now strictly on Alimentum the malabsorption formula and his baby food for the next four days. Last time we tried to give him this formula he HATED it and REFUSED to take it so when I got home I was really upset. I just kept saying a silent prayer that he would take it and he DID! He drank it without a fight. I am supposed to call Primary Childrens asap and get another appointment. He will be reweighed on Monday and reassesed to see if the strict formula diet will help with the weight gain. I am also supposed to double the intake of solids to 5-6 jars A DAY! Although worried I feel much better now that he will take the formula and have high hopes for an improved weight gain by Monday! At this point I would be ok with stopping breastfeeding, I would be sad but not heartbroken since he is now 7 months old. I just hope we get this figured out, wish us luck!

Gavin 6 month pictures!

We had Gavins 6 month pictures done last week at the Union Station. Obviously we did Carsons 2 and a half year pics at the same time. It was alot of fun and I think Emily did a really good job!

OH MY FRIENDS!

Well my good friend Shauna came up from Arizona, on her way she called me and we decided to surprise everyone else so I told everyone to come to my house on Tuesday at 10am for a HUGE surprise! Shaua came and as she was going inside Lindsey pulled in, I loved seeing the look on her face when she saw Shauna. Then Heidi came and we had Shauna hide, Miranda (Shaunas little girl) was standing right in front of her and she could not figure it out until we pointed Miranda out. Terianne and her friend came next followed by Kaylee. It was so much fun surprising everyone. They were all really worried about what I could possibly have as a surprise so they were excited and a little relieved to see Shauna. This is was my house looked like that day! Thats right 7 mommies, 1 daddy, 6 -2 year olds, 2 -1 year olds, and 4 -babies under 1, and 2 babies in the belly! It was chaotic but abosolutely so much FUN! Finally after hours of playing the kids got restless so we pulled out ELIFUN and Playdough and they had a blast with those.

It was so much fun having Shauna come up and surprise everyone! I cant wait until she comes back. It was great to get everyone together we absolutely loved seeing everyone!

Friends!

My best friend Steph came down and visited. Her little boy Ronin was so good to Gavin and wanted to hold him so bad so I finally gave in and let him hold him in the recliner. He did so well he is going to be a great big brother! Im so glad my best friend lives close enough to visit now, although I wouldnt mind a little closer! It was wonderful to see you Steph!

Easter!

Easter was so much fun this year! This was Carsons easter basket, he got sidewalk chalk, tootsie rolls, a big sucker, peeps, candy jewelry, and marshmellow bunnies! We put the basket on the table so when he walked out he could see it! He loved trying all the new treats. He loved the peeps!Gavin didnt get a basket this year but he loves the rattle he got from the Easter party! Carson took awhile to figure out how to eat they candy jewelry but once he did it was GONE!
He got this BIG SUCKER! He loved it, he munches on it a little a day its so funny we STILL have it!Well apparently Gavin HAD to taste it to! I looked over and found this! I love these boys they are so funny, Im so glad Carson is such an amazing big brother and takes good care of his baby Gavin!

HAPPY EASTER!

Easter Party!

So every year Tarons Aunt Sandy and Uncle Stan have an Easter party. We are always appriciateive that we are invited and they do such a wonderful job. This year the baskets were Soooooo Cute. Here are the baskets that Carson and Gavin recieved. Carsons basket had goodies, playdough, cookies, a car and fruit snack and much more! Gavin got alot of baby food and juice and the cutest baby rattle that he absolutely adores! I thought the baskets were ADORABLE! They also did a candy hunt for the little kids so here is Carson finding some candy.

At first he tried carrying his bag and picking up candy but after he realized that was to hard he gave the bag to Grandma and just started running and picking up a piece then bringing it over. It was so cute and actually very efficient!
We always have so much fun at this party. Taron won a handheld pump and I won Deal or No Deal game on DVD. Thanks to Stan and Sandy for including us in this wonderful event every year. We are so blessed to have such wonderful family!

Gavin is....

Well Gavin in doing alot lately he has definitely found his feet and they are ALWAYS in his mouth! Gavin is..ROLLING OVER! I know its exciting! He did it once or twice then stopped but now anytime we put him on his tummy he can roll to his back, we are still working on back to tummy!
Although he is rolling its hard work and sometimes about half way over he falls asleep because he just gets to exausted!

Its adorable! Well he has also started his veggies! On April 3rd he started with sweet potatoes then carrots then squash! His favorite so far...PEAS! He really likes it all though.

He also had his 6 month appointment on the 8th and he has gotten longer!!! We are now in the 10th percent for height which is promising. Unfortunately continues to fall on the weight chart. He is 12lb 9oz and off the bottom of the chart. He continues to drop so we have a re-weigh scheduled for May 3rd, wish us luck!

Gavin is an incredible kid, he is so calm and loving, he rarely cries and loves to give snuggles. I am so blessed to be his mommy!

Coloring Eggs!

Happy EASTER! So on Friday we decided to dye eggs. It was so much fun, Carson loved putting the eggs in the dye.
We made eggs for both Carson and Gavin!

We used a sports theme that came with sports stickers, stands, crayons, and more!

We had such a good time, Carson really liked it, and now I have a dozen hard boiled eggs in my fridge if anyone is hungry!

Gavin Update!

Yesterday Gavin had an appointment with the specialist. He is now 12 pounds 6 ounces which means he has only gained an ounce in 10 days. They believe he has milk protein intolerance, very common but unfortunately can only be treated with diet modification....my diet! They did however see something on his xray they wanted to check out so today we went to Primary Childrens so Gavin could have an upper GI done. That is where they drink the contrast then take a bunch of pictures to see the stomach and small bowel. Well they found he has signifigant reflux which surprised me. The rest of the results we will get later but thats what they told me as of today. Hope to hear more soon!
