The Surgery!
Well I know its been 5 days but Carson had surgery on Friday. He did very well considering. The doctor came in and said he did get both tendons and the nerves but she was able to repair them all, it is still not known what kind of feeling and function he will have that will just have to be seen in time. He has been a trooper, we noticed his splint slipping off over the weekend and then the worst happened....It got wet! This is bad! I called his doc and she said to get it as dry as possible and they would change it on Monday. When we went in on Monday and they unwrapped it I was devastated. Since it had only been 3 days since the surgery it was extremely swollen and bruised, and because of the water it was white and water-logged. Hopefully it looks better next time. He is doing well now, it doesnt even phase him to have the big cast although caring for him is much harder, he is more whiney and needy, gets frustrated easy, it takes 2 to bath him and none of his sleeves fit over his cast so dressing him is rediculous. Thats ok though because he is ok and it will end eventually! Our next appointment is next Friday so hopefully we know more by then.

OUCH!!!!!!!!
Well it has been a LONG few days. On Thursday Carson and I were cleaning out his room getting ready for winter and the new baby. We were trying on old clothes to see what we still needed to buy for winter so Carson was in his diaper and I was in my PJ's. I was in his closet and he ran out of the room for just a few minutes when I heard a HUGE CRASH and a horrible SCREAM! I ran into our room and saw Carson on the floor with a vase that held our change shattered all over him, he was screaming and covered in blood. I picked him up and ran into the bathroom thinking he just had a little cut so I looked him over and rinsed him off and saw a horrible sight. His left index finger was just hanging there the cut was so deep I could see the bone. I knew I needed help getting to the hospital so I grapped a washcloth wrapped it up and ran outside where luckily my neighbor was washing his car. I ran to his house and said "I think Carson needs to go the the ER" We must have been a sight because he dropped the stuff he was holding and looked at his finger. It was so bad he grabbed him and said go get what you need to go the hospital. I ran in the house and grapped my purse and the diaper bag, by this time they had gone through 3 washclothes and a hand towel of blood. Me, Carson, and the neighbor were covered in blood. We grabbed a pressure bandage out of the 72 hour kit and wrapped a cloth around his hand and got him in the car and I went to Mckay ER. When we got there they said oh did he get cut and I said "Ya its pretty bad" they acted like I was overreacting so right in the triage they unwrapped it and it was bleeding so bad, the nurse looked at it and at me and said "OH we should put him in the big room" Having it unwrapped for just a moment the floor was covered in blood. After we got in the room they numbed it with a topical cream and changed the dressing again, then gave him numbing with the shots and had to change the dressing again. Finally the ER doc came in and got all the stitches out and got ready to stitch him up but once he unwrapped it he looked at me and said "I think we need to call the hand surgeon it looks like he got a tendon" Well I already had figured it was that bad so they put him in a splint and sent us home to see a hand surgreon in the morning. Friday morning we went to Dr Okawa who is a plastic surgeon they unwrapped it (again) and she looked at it for just a moment and said that everything to the bone was severed including all the tendons and possibly the nerves. So it was alot worse than we had been anticipating. He will be having surgery including a incision that will probably extend into his palm. She will repair the tendons and nerves but is unsure at this time what kind of motion and feeling he will have. He is currently in a splint and is scheduled for surgery on Friday the 11th, (I really would prefer sooner but its labor day weekend). He will then be in a splint for 8 weeks followed by weeks of physical therapy. He was very brave in the
ER he barely cried when they numbed it and laid perfectly still while they cleaned and put in 2 stitches. He is doing fine as of now though he doesnt seem to mind the splint I think he is doing much better than me.

Carson's Birthday
Well it happened, and so much faster than I thought but Carson has turned 2! We had a little birthday party on friday with his friends and it was so cute!
As everyone was arriving we just played with balls! I know thats Carsons favorite thing to do and it seemed like all the kids enjoyed it.
After the tatoos we did a fish pond and the girls won jewelry and bubbles. The boys won bubbles and footballs. We used little fishing poles it was cute to watch them all reel in the toys! Then we played ring-around-the-rosie and sat at the table to have cake!
Everyone loved the chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting and M&M's on top, Carson's favorite candy is "nums" or M&Ms.

After everyone came we did temporary tatoos! It was so funny they all gathered around and were excited when they saw the "stickers" on their arms. The girls got Mini Mouse. Carson and Boston got Goofy. Eli and Ronin had Mickey Mouse and then after Charley put all the rest on her legs it was so cute!
I think Remy really liked the cupcakes!

Ronin smashed his cupcake in his face it was so cute and funny!

Here is one side of the table, this is the only way I could get a picture of little Charley on the end she was being shy!

Then Carson got his present...A FOUR WHEELER! He ran to it and jumped on.....backwards! it was so cute. Once we turned him around and showed him the button he loved it he giggled and lauged!

This is me and Stephanie my best friend she came all the way from Logan Thanks Steph!

Well it was a cute little party and just right for 2nd birthday, Thanks everyone for coming. Shauna and Ian we missed you!

like father like son!
I have the most incredible husband so it makes me so happy that my son is turning out to be just like him in every way. Think Im exaggerating I have proof. This is just the last month, my son follows his daddy around and thinks he is the greatest thing ever.
They dress alike!
They both love Ice Cream on the couch!

LAGOOOOOON!
We took Carson to Lagoon and he LOVED IT! OK now back to reality....he liked the first few rides then everytime we put a seatbelt on him he would cry until the ride started then he would like it. Some of the operaters thought we were being mean making him cry but he really did like it after the ride started. His favorites were the care and train.
On the helicopters there was a bee on his leg the whole time and I was freaking out.
He didnt get stung, he never even realized it was there.
My little heart breaker...He looks so innocent.

My poor sick baby.....
Well Carson had a rough week. Saturday night Taron and I stayed at Little America, Carson stayed with his aunt. Well we got a phone call in the morning that he had thrown up during the night, I wasnt to concerned until the 3rd call when he had thrown up 2 more times. When we got home he was SO SICK! He didnt keep anything down it was so sad. By that night he was so dehydrated we took him to a clinic. They wanted to redo his blood work in the morning and when they did they said he was very dehydrated. They admitted him to Mckay and I thought great he will get an IV and we will leave. Well it didnt quite happen like that. He was so sick. He couldnt eat or drink without getting sick. Well we ended up being there for 2 nights and 3 days! He had an IV and he just layed there most of the time. These pics were taken after he finally started feeling better. We came home yesterday evening and things are going ok, he is eating and drinking finally but they are going to watch him close for the next 2 weeks.

Good Times....Great Friends!
Well here is the scoop on these girls.....First in order from left to right Lindsey, Shauna, Heidi, and Me. Well as the story goes I used to work as a CNA with Lindsey and Shauna at Manor Care. Unfortunately we lost touch after we all quite. When I went to a birth class while pregnant with Carson I ran into Shauna at the same class. She told me she was getting induced on the 19th of August. Well a few weeks later I called Shauna after Carson was born and we found that our babies Carson and Ian were born on August 20th Carson at 105am and Ian at 144am. Both at the same hospital same doctor and she was in the room next to me! Crazy I know well she was friends with Heidi who had Boston her son on August 15th and then ran into Lindsey who had her girl Jaylee on August 17th. Thats right 4 babies in 5 days! Well we started hanging out every week and it has been the greatest thing! I dont know that I would have gotten through this first year of parenthood without these girls. I LOVE THEM!

The boys!
Now for fun lets compare our 18 month olds with our 2 month olds....
To continue our little story Lindsey got pregnant, then Shauna, then Heidi, then well me. Now I know this seems planned but really we all just started wanting another baby at the same time. So in this pic Lindsey is 38 weeks, Shauna is 30 weeks, Heidi is 13 weeks, and I am 9 weeks. Its going to be another fun year of mommy days!
Here are the stars, Remy (baby to Kaylee another mommy in the group whom we love!) Jaylee, Carson, Ian, and Boston!
Jaylee and Carson share a little smooch!
